Default Intermediate Salvage Kit

Currently we have
Standard Salvage kit: 4g/usage, size 20, common only
Expert Salvage: 16g/usage, size 100, common+rare
Superior Salvage Kit: 20g/usage, size 100, common+rare

However we're missing the expanded common only one
Intermediate Salvage kit: 5g/usage, size 100, common only

I don't know why they decided not to put this one in when they added the superior salvage and superior id kits, but its absence bugs me every time I need to go out on a long run somewhere and end up having to bring 2-3 standards instead.

Why would you take a standard over an expert anyway?
The chance for rare mats is good enough to outbalance the extra cost.

Many items don't have the chance of a rare salvage.

..... just use an expert salvage then, at the end your profit will be bigger

Yeah... and if you use an expert on them you gain more normal ones.

So... where's the drawback?

Actually most items DO have a chance of rare salvage, its just that what the game thinks is rare might not be rare anymroe

Dust FTW!

Thats an old wives tale, a regular salvage kit gives exactly the same amount.

Most bows and staves will salvage to wood exclusively using an expert/superior on them will reduce your gold. Even when that is not the case it is sometimes preferable to get the better to get the 15-25 iron than to get 2 steel for example.

why are all of the poll options like
Yes, an intermediate kit is the greatest thing ever - "omg your idea is super awsome!"
It wouldn't hurt - "yes - I see no problems in having one"
No, an intermediate kit would ruin my game - "omg noo, I'm a noob and don't want any changes!!11!!."

yeh - pretty "options" - 2 for yes, 1 for no (which also insults you)

why not simply - yes, no, I don't care (but letting you have one), I'm neutral and I don't care (but thinking it's unnecessary)

It really isn't needed - do you farm lower lvl areas? Would you use it when you get to the high-end areas?
Low-end are finished quickly so you don't need a lot of common salvaging kits

Now I always take a Superior and 2x basic on all long trips.
If it was available I would definately use it.
The idea makes perfect sense, it's just such a small improvement it barely makes any difference. "It wouldn't hurt" though.

This is a biased choice. It wouldn't ruin my game, but it really is a waste of an inventory slot.

Much better choice.

Actually the 'common' salvage kits are 'toy' kits that were created to have them in pre-Searing, and then they kept them later.

I get more common materials using the Expert kit than using a common one, so why would I want a kit having more uses of a kit that I won't use?

Yeah this is kinda confusing, but you forgot to mention the perfect salvage kit. With that nothing breaks and it's actually easy to make and costs less than an expert and superior one.

I would have to say no. Not because it would ruin my game mind you, but because this idea doesn't really serve a purpose. Why would you want this intermediate kit over an expert salvage kit? The way you classified them, it sounds like it wouldn't even be able to get runes.

This would be a very welcome change for me. I usually carry 1 expert and 2-4 standard kits so I can later craft rare materials. Expert kits do not yield any greater quantity of common materials when used. This idea makes good sense.

They should just have an omega salvage kit with 32g/usage and 500 uses, and an alpha salvage kit at 8g/usage and 500 uses for common stuff. I could careless about the additional gold/use, but it'll save trips to the merch

Infinite or Everlasting Salvage Kit. Unlimited uses. Can be acquired from Dupper the Banished, a new NPC that appears in the Ebony Citadel of Mallyx after Mallyx is defeated. Cost: 1,000 Armbraces of Truth.

I can see there aren't too many frugal members around. Yes, normal salvage kits serve a purpose in higher level areas. Lets take an ordinary max damage longbow that your bags are too full to carry back to merchant... salvaging with a expert would give you 10-15 wood for a profit of 24-34g, salvaging the same bow with a normal kit would give you 36-46g. 10 bows on an outing and the difference is 100g, 1000 instances later and you're up 100k.

The poll options are meant as tongue in cheek options for yes, don't care or no.

There's no need for the "Yes, I FRACKING LOVE THIS IDEA", a simple "Yes" will do fine, same goes for the No's.

Your poll fails. I would have voted no, but the idea wouldn't RUIN my game...I just don't see a need for it. I also couldn't vote yes, because I certainly don't think it is the best idea ever. Learn to use polls please.

It is not something I need in game.
